Gary Lewin, Expert Football Physiotherapist – Injury Rehab Network Event

Rehabilitation on the Road in Elite Sport

Sterosport, the sports-focused arm of Manchester-based Steroplast Healthcare, has announced that Gary Lewin will be the expert guest speaker for the next free event of the successful Injury Rehab Network. This free online event for sports injury professionals is taking place on Wednesday 27^th January 2021 at 6pm, is being delivered in collaboration with and hosted by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators (BASRaT).

Gary is one of the most experienced physios working in professional and international football with past positions at England, Team GB, and Arsenal FC. Gary has over 30 years’ experience including 22 year’s leading the medical team at Arsenal FC.

From 2008 to 2016 Gary was Head of Physiotherapy Services to the FA and Lead Physiotherapist to the England Senior Men’s team. Gary headed up the medical team at five FIFA World Cup Finals, four UEFA European Championship Finals and two FIFA Under 20 World Cup Finals. Gary was also the Lead Physiotherapist to the Team GB Football Team at 2012 London Olympic Games.

In June 2017 Gary was appointed Head of Medical Services at West Ham United before leaving at the end of a one-year contract in June 2018. In that time Gary implemented a media structure and rehab programme to ensure player development was a priority.

In 2019, Gary set up the Lewin Sports Injury Clinic with his cousin Colin Lewin. He works as a consultant physiotherapist for the Arsenal Women’s Team and is an affiliated tutor for the FA ATMMiF Course.
